John 13:1-17: On the night before the cross, Jesus washes the feet of His disciples in the upper room before Judas’ betrayal. Jesus had walked this earth without being sullied by sin at all, and in His conversation about the event with Peter, He teaches us how to maintain that state of unmuddied fellowship with God and with one another, as we each help the other to stay clean in a messy world, showing each other His mercy.
