Creation vs Evolution

Creation science is the Seattle Seahawks. The philosophy of evolutionism is the Denver Broncos. Let them compete on a level playing field and it is almost embarrassing to watch.  There is a reason why evolution is normally only taught in forums and classrooms where critical thinking and challenging questions aren’t permitted. It’s because evolution is impossible, disproved, ridiculous.  The evolutionist, like the creation scientist, believes in miracles, but believes in causeless miracles without God. This is irrational.  But it is what you must believe to accept evolution.  There is no natural mechanism by which any living creature can have offspring of another kind, no natural force that can cause the creation of and addition of new genetic material into an offspring that didn’t come from its parent.  And the fact that life cannot be spontaneously brought into existence from non-life, no matter how much energy is exerted in the effort, is patently obvious if you limit yourself to the natural laws of the universe.  The only way these things could have come about is for billions and billions of miracles (super-natural occurrences) to have happened without God even being there to make it so.  What a joke.  Yes, evolutionist, I believe in miracles just like you; I just understand there has to be a transcendent being who is above and beyond matter, space, time, and energy to cause it, while you vainly imagine the laws of nature constantly contradicted themselves until slime on a rock evolved into you and me.  If your mind is able to believe that this could happen if “mother nature” were just granted billions of years of trying, then you have more blind faith than I could ever be persuaded to exercise.  God is real.  A scientist who looks at the evidence and doesn’t think so isn’t thinking clearly on the subject.  It is foolish and irrational to be atheist.  It is logical and intelligent to examine the Bible’s every claim and let it prove itself true.

Evolution vs. God Documentary video

The Evolution vs. God documentary from Ray Comfort has been released. (Spoiler alert: God wins in a knockout.)

Watching it was like a flashback to my days in high school and college, when my professors also couldn’t answer a plea for some evidence that evolution might have happened, just demanded I believe it.  Excellent video. Unfortunately, most atheists and believers in evolution will be afraid to watch it, because they don’t have any evidence to back up their beliefs either.

I also especially liked that this video did not cloud the issue of the gospel with the call to “turn from your sins,” which distorts what the gospel’s call is.  Ray Comfort’s materials have often said that phrase, and like “Ask Jesus into your heart,” it is a phrase that keeps people from understanding the gospel.  We don’t ask Jesus into our hearts, and we don’t turn from our sins.  We trust in Christ and His death in our place on the cross and His resurrection to save us.

 

“Lordship Salvation” pt 2

Spurgeon in his highly recommendable book “All of Grace” tells the story of a young pastor going to visit a very poor widow to give her a gift of money. He knocked at her door and there was no answer. Seeing her in church the next Sunday, the pastor told her he had come to give her the gift, but she wasn’t home. Realizing when he had come, she answered, “No. Actually I was there. But I thought you were the landlord coming to collect rent, and I had no money, so I hid.” When we preach “Turn from your sins and be saved,” honest hearts who would be saved if they heard the true gospel say to themselves, “I cannot turn from my sins. I am bogged down in sins. God is apparently requiring of me a debt I cannot pay.” And so they turn off the preacher’s voice and continue in sin and shame. Spurgeon rightly then tells the listener that yes, you have sinned, and God has come not to make you pay for it, but to announce to you His free gift that your debt has already been paid.

This by the way, was a paraphrase of Spurgeon, not a quote. I don’t have the book in front of me at the moment. But it’s just 99 cents if you have a kindle, and you will be very glad you read it.

Galatians 2:11-21 Lordship Salvation?

Are we saved by grace alone received through faith alone in Christ alone?

Or are we saved by coming to Jesus, bowing at His feet, confessing Him as Lord, and committing to turn from our sins and follow Him, so that He as Lord will then become our Savior and forgive our past sins?

Atheist or “militant atheist”

Who are the real skeptics?

The belief that this universe and all that is in it came about by an unplanned, unguided, unintended explosion of absolutely nothing is the most irrational of superstitions out there. And those who believe it, despite the lack of a scintilla of evidence that it could have happened, have no right to don the label of “skeptic,” as today’s agnostics and atheists are so fond of doing. They are the most gullible of people.
If I were to tell my 5-year-old that everything in the world came out of nothing at all, and that no one made it happen, even she would have enough skepticism in her innocent little mind to not only doubt my words, but completely disbelieve them. Atheists aren’t skeptics. They are people who put their skepticism to death on the altar of desire to be free from sensing any accountability to God.
